Darwis Koo is a graduate of Sultan Sharif ‘Ali Islamic University, holding;
Bachelor’s Degree in Usuluddin ‘Aqidah & Da’wah, Minor in Halal Science, Master’s Degree in Halal Science, and currently she went on to pursue her PhD in Halal Science

Brought up by a Chinese Muslim father and a Malay Muslim mother, both of whom were teachers.
The idea of becoming a teacher was instilled in her from a young age, and she continues to be enthusiastic about the profession and devoted to her role

Darwis Koo has been accredited to teach Al-Quran by Majlis Ugama Islam, The Islamic Religious Council Negara Brunei Darussalam. She’s also actively and continuously participating in the Talaqqi Program of Al-Quran Recitation with Sanad, and with the help of her personal Asatidz, it allows her to perpetually enhance the recitation skills as well as preserve quality makhraj letters and tajweed rulings

Our Service

Ustaza Darwis is accountable to facilitate the education of Al-Quran within the community by using online platforms. Learning from the very basics to completing the recitation (Iqra-Khatam Al-Quran).

As of 2019, Ustaza Darwis has more than thirty students under her supervision. Most of them have been taught from Zero to Hero. They continued learning with her through this present day.

Physical learning is not the first priority, but should you really really really opt for it, Teacher Darwis is based in Kuala Belait, she still allows for her students to come to the house and set up for physical learning (one on one). Depending on availability, and charges will remain the same.
A very suitable and comfy place for you to sit for online class, wifi, laptop or iPad or phone, headphones/earpiece for better experience, ⁠Pink Iqra book (1-6), ⁠any physical and personal Mushaf, Tafseer or Al-Quran, ⁠pens and notebooks. Other than that, Teacher Darwis uses PDF versions of Iqra, Al-Quran and Tajweed that will be displayed and shared-screen during the session
Al-Quran (Intermediate-Advanced Level): You can recite the Al-Quran whenever it is easy for you, regardless of the day or hour. Sessions can be scheduled once, twice, or more per week. This program enables you to always be in contact with the Quran and recite it.

Sure! But, Teacher Darwis suggests revising some previous lessons just to make sure you’re okay and still on track, or worse, you could return back to the appropriate level/lessons if she finds out your recitations are unsatisfactory. As it could affect for the future reading skills.

I went from Zero to Hero. I feel like it’s a great platform to use because we can be flexible with our time, can easily replace missed classes and be at the comfort of our home. We can choose to have more classes to improve our mengaji if we want to instead of using physical classes which are more inflexible in terms of timing, an inconvenience to replace and transportation to get to the location might also be an issue.

Alhamdulillah they enjoy their mengaji session with you so far, N (6 yrs old) and Y (4 yrs old) ada progress sudah mengaji, walaupun slow and steady. Yang paling dorang suka is ada games, so mengaji session is not as boring.

Online learning for younger kids (less than 6 yrs old), I find it quite challenging. In all honesty, I prefer f2f lessons for this age group so that dorang boleh fokus. Alhamdullilah, their mengaji journey with you, is very consistent and you are on time (ani penting untuk set routine dorang). Ustazah tahu cemana kan mengambil perhatian diorang, sebab mengaji ani especially not the most fun thing to do (apatah lagi secara online), tapi cara Ustazah mengajar atu dorang dapat belajar dan menangkap.

I’d say your technology advancement atu, siuk meliat mengaji sambil ada conteng² especially utk org Iqra. Siuuuk. Other than that, I like when kana pisi satu persatu bacaan atu. Love how you’re doing well in that part psl rasanya banar² kana tasmik in detail.

Alhamdulillahhhh convenient berabis!!! Anytime anywhere, walaupun masa anak kan tidur, bemain etc psl at home saja. Online learning we don’t have to worried abt venue’s as long it supported with strong internet connection, we did it well, we both know the struggle with each other, sometimes babies n kids interrupt us but still the lesson can be done, we don’t have to worried abt our attire, even wit compact time, the will to read Quran still can be done during break/spare-time in the office

As a mother with a son who has been diagnosed with ASD, I constantly worry that he won’t have the interest or attention to sit down and have Quran classes. I am then thankful that I was introduced to Ustazah Darwis a couple of years ago. With her online classes it was easier for my son to attend the lessons and with her teachings and dedication my son was able to stay focused, and Alhamdulilah is now well into his Quran lessons.
