Darwis Koo is a graduate of Sultan Sharif ‘Ali Islamic University, holding; Bachelor’s Degree in Usuluddin ‘Aqidah & Da’wah, Minor in Halal Science. Master’s Degree in Halal Science and currently she went on to pursue her PhD in Halal Science as well.
Brought up by a Chinese Muslim father and a Malay Muslim mother, both of whom were teachers. The idea of becoming a teacher was instilled in her from a young age, and she continues to be enthusiastic about the profession and devoted to her role.
Darwis Koo has been accredited to teach Al-Quran by Majlis Ugama Islam, The Islamic Religious Council Negara Brunei Darussalam. She’s also actively and continuously participating in the Talaqqi Programme of Al-Quran Recitation with Sanad, and with the help of her personal Asatidz, it allows her to perpetually enhance the recitation skills as well as preserve a quality makhraj and tajweed rulings.

IQRA (Beginners Level)
- Beginning with the identification of the Hijaiyyah letters
- Memorization of each individual letter

Al-Quran (Intermediate-Advanced Level)
- Tasmik and Talaqqi: Listening, Checking and verifying to your recitation
- Tahsin: Render your recitation be more comfortable and easier through tahsin
- Tajwid: Simply to enhance your Al-Quran reading skills by observing the accurate pronunciation of every letter and with the rulings characteristics, without any exaggeration and deficiency

Tajweed (Intermediate-Advanced Level)
- Theory: Having an in-depth understanding of the rulings in Al-Quran by studying through a selected Tajweed book
- Practical: Applying the rulings through few assessments and as well as involving recitation practice

- Assists in accomplishing your goal in finishing the recitation of the Al-Quran within the time range that you have chosen through a fixed and strict schedule

Al-Fatihah Clinic

Physical learning is not the first priority, but should you really really really opt for it, Teacher Darwis is based in Kuala Belait, she still allows for her students to come to the house and set up for physical learning (one on one). Depending on availability, and charges will remain the same.
A very suitable and comfy place for you to sit for online class, wifi, laptop or iPad or phone, headphones/earpiece for better experience, Pink Iqra book (1-6), any physical and personal Mushaf, Tafseer or Al-Quran, pens and notebooks. Other than that, Teacher Darwis uses PDF versions of Iqra, Al-Quran and Tajweed that will be displayed and shared-screen during the session
Al-Quran (Intermediate-Advanced Level): You can recite the Al-Quran whenever it is easy for you, regardless of the day or hour. Sessions can be scheduled once, twice, or more per week. This program enables you to always be in contact with the Quran and recite it.

Sure! But, Teacher Darwis suggests revising some previous lessons just to make sure you’re okay and still on track, or worse, you could return back to the appropriate level/lessons if she finds out your recitations are unsatisfactory. As it could affect for the future reading skills.
